Coming to the food bank for the first time can seem overwhelming, but our dedicated team of volunteers are here to help you during this time.
When you first arrive, you will need to park in the Mt Olive Lutheran Church parking lot across the street from the food bank. If you have a disabled placard, there are two parking spaces available in the front of our building. Then, simply come through the first door in the building to enter our registration area. Someone from our registration team will assist you as soon as they are available. Here is a list of the items you will need to bring with you in order to get registered for the first time:
1) Proof of address in our service areas (Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Granite Bay). We are able to provide a one-time service to those outside of our distribution areas, and then we will help direct you to an organization where you live.
2) Proof of identity for those in your household. IDs are required for anyone over the age of 18 and birth certificates, medical cards, or school IDs are needed for anyone under the age of 18. We will provide you with food based on the size of your household, so please make sure to have these documents available.
3) Registration form. This will be given to you in our office when you first arrive. It only takes a few minutes to fill out and we can answer any questions you may have.
That's it! After your first visit, the only thing necessary is a piece of mail post-marked/dated within 90 days that has your name and current address on it. You are able to visit the food bank once per month and anyone over the age of 60 is able to visit twice per month. We are open for distribution:
Tuesday - 9:00AM-12:30PM; 4:30PM-6:00PM
Wednesday - 9:00AM-12:00PM
Thursday - 9:00AM-12:30PM
