We take the food to those who can't come to us.
Due to the growing population of senior citizens, a few years ago we realized that there was going to be a growing group of people that would be physically unable to get to the food bank site to collect needed food items. In November 2015, we were able to raise the funds and purchase a new refrigerated van, so we would be able to take groceries, fresh produce, and fresh dairy to many who would never be able to come to us.
Our first pilot program for the POW (Pantry on Wheels) Van was started in February 2016 and a second site has been added since the end of May 2016. It is our desire that this program will continue to grow as needs are found around our community.
